What’s In Walnut Park

After three intensive months of neighborhood engagement, community meetings, and volunteer efforts, Restore Oregon is proud to announce the results of our project which joined with neighbors todocument the history and architecture of Walnut Park. The hard work of our summer intern, Victoria Hensley, and dozens of neighbors has resulted in the documentation of 170 properties across 12 blocks of Northeast Portland. Photos, facts, and figures have been compiled into a report (link to PDF)  which outlines the background, methods, and results of our investigation. A brief history of the neighborhood and its three phases of development is also included.

As we look to the future of Walnut Park we know that community engagement is key to any efforts to preserve and protect the fascinating stories and places that make this Northeast Portland neighborhood unique. The residents of Walnut Park will lead these efforts and Restore Oregon will be there to help.
