The rain did not dampen the enthusiasm at the
sold-out “The Arc of Yeon” Architect Spotlight event!
On Saturday, June 21st, Restore Oregon hosted 100 guests at two special homes designed by John Yeon. Guests explored and immersed themselves in the Watzek and Cottrell Houses while being inspired by the creativity and innovation of John Yeon. From personalized tours to sneak peeks into childhood hiding places, expectations were exceeded. We were so grateful to have our special guests on-site. At the Cottrell House, Marcy and her husband, John, delighted us with their memories and childhood experiences of growing up in a stunning architectural design. In the Watzek House, Richard Louis Brown and Bill Tripp offered their expertise on design and architecture using the home as an exquisite example. We also thank the many staff from the University of Oregon who joined us and shared their knowledge.
Marcy Cottrell remarked, “It was just the kind of day I think my parents envisioned when they gifted the house. The hemlock walls of the Cottrell House, I know, were reverberating happy memories that others could feel.”
