Restore Oregon Staff and Board of Directors Welcome Two New Staff Members
Please give a warm preservationist welcome to JB and Sara!
Meet Sara Masser, Development Manager
Sara brings over a decade of fundraising experience, and a healthy obsession of all things historic, into her new role at Restore Oregon.
Sara serendipitously stumbled into a fundraising career in 2006. Since then, she has cultivated a strong desire to help nonprofits build their community of support and help communities of support connect with the nonprofits that fuel their personal missions. She believes shared story-telling can amplify an organization's impact and spark change-creating connections. Sara is looking forward to diving in and working with Restore Oregon's supporters to help preserve, restore, and reuse even more unique and special places throughout Oregon.
Meet JB, Event & Program Associate
Jennifer, or “JB” as most people call her, considers historic preservation a social movement and a powerful vehicle toward affordable housing, vibrant inclusive economies, and the mitigation of environmental impacts. If you say, “The most green building is the one already standing,” she will snap her fingers. JB has a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, a Master of Fine Art in Writing, a Certificate in Grant Proposal Writing, and is currently a student of hands-on preservation and restoration methods at Clatsop Community College. She has deep connections to Southern Oregon and Oregon’s North Coast. JB has consulted for mission-based organizations supporting their organizational development, events, grants, and public relations. JB has special interests in typewriters, no-tech creative retreats, and log cabins. “Much of the knowledge of how to do this work will disappear with the experts currently working in the field. It is critical for that knowledge to be handed down.”
