Open One Afternoon Only

On Sunday, July 30, experience the National Register-listed H. Russell Albee House, designed by noted architect A. E. Doyle and beautifully reimagined by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design lead designer Mira Eng-Goetz, along with Dave Rush Construction and Courtney Skybak from Sam H. Williamson Associates, landscape architecture.

Nestled atop a treed hillside overlooking Laurelhurst Park in Southeast Portland’s Laurelhurst Historic District, this handsome brick landmark will be available to tour for one afternoon only and is the first time it is open to the public since restoration was completed.

About the Albee House

Built in the Colonial Revival Style in 1912, for Portland Mayor H. Russell Albee, this  6,887-square-foot home’s historic features include red brick, hipped roofs, a pedimented portico, a grand center staircase, fine millwork and paneling, and one-of-a-kind stained glass windows.

Interior design elements include a dynamic color palette, an eclectic mix of modern and period lighting, luxe rugs and furnishings, vibrant mosaic tile, gilded ceilings, and hand-painted wall panels and ceiling medallions by Portland-based wallpaper designers and muralists Lonesome Pictopia.  A free-standing greenhouse and holistic landscape design contribute to the outdoor experience.

With five bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a basement-level movie theater space, and a walk-in closet like no other, this exclusive one-day-only experience should not be missed! So please show your support for preservation in Oregon by joining us for this exclusive fundraising tour which is sure to delight, while also helping to fund Restore Oregon’s preservation efforts statewide.
