The final steps for adopting the Historic Resources Code Project (HRCP) are scheduled to happen in January.
Per City of Portland staff, the City Council has scheduled a two-step process:
- The January 19th at 9:45am meeting will allow City Council to formally accept revised project documents reflecting their December votes on various amendments.
- The January 26th meeting will allow the City Council to vote to adopt the entire code package.
Meeting times and an official agenda are available on the City’s website (https://www.portland.gov/council/agenda).
Assuming the City Council does adopt the HRCP with this schedule, the new code will go into effect on March 1, 2022. Restore Oregon will of course continue our advocacy commitment to this once-in-a-generation update.
