Meet Nicole

After having served as Restore Oregon’s Director of Development for the past four years, Nicole became our Executive Director in May 2021. She brings over 25 years of experience in historic preservation with a focus on fundraising, strategic planning and project management. Nicole previously worked in Los Angeles as a consultant and a key innovator for public agencies, nonprofits and private clients from established organizations like the National Audubon Society to cities to start-up nonprofits like Friends of Griffith Park. Nicole’s work in urban L.A. uniquely positions her for working collaboratively across communities of color. Her professional and volunteer experiences are accentuated by her core values of transforming place-based projects that are historic, cultural or environmental in nature which also have a positive impact on improving the livability and sustainability of communities. She served as a Trustee to the California Preservation Foundation and earned over a dozen awards for professional and volunteer work including a Woman of the Year award from Senator Richard Polanco, and the distinguished President’s Award from the California Preservation Foundation.  Nicole grew up in Michigan in both urban and rural environments and holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Central Michigan University. She is currently completing a Masters of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Oregon.
